1. Ensure your Operating System
is as up to date as possible, not only will that ensure your
visit is as efficient as possible but it will also ensure your
computer is as safe as possible (from a security point of view) from the internet...
|
|
2. This site is optimised for use with Internet
Explorer 6 and some of the more advanced features will not
work with older browsers. Please ensure your are using
the latest browser to enhance your visit...

|
3. Ensure you have cookies
enabled for your browser and that these are not being blocked by your firewall or anti-virus software,
Note some coporate environments disable this by default.
This site uses a simple cookie, not for tracking or for
storing data but to store a unique ID number that is randomly
assigned to you on each visit to this site. Because of
the way websites work, when you first visit our site a random
number is assigned to your browser so the site knows that it
is you when you switch between pages, otherwise your shopping
basket, wishlist, etc would be lost. Please review
our privacy
policy for more information. |

4. If you are using a Mac then
there are known problems with .NET based web sites (like this
one) and incompatibilities with Mac browsers (especially on
the check out screen when using Safari, we are aware of this problem and it is a
limitation with the Safari browser - you will not get
the problem using IE) . If you are
experiencing these after you have updated both your Operating
System and your Browser then we apologise and would ask you to
telephone us so we may take your order. |
|
5. Foreign keyboards can cause problems when
submitting payment authorisation at our check out via HSBC
(the world's local bank) as their system cannot accept
characters that are not part of the standard western character
set. Please set your keyboard to use a western character
set before completing your order. Refer to your
Operating System manual for help and advise on doing this
because it is different for all computers. On Windows
systems you can find this in your Control Panel. |
|
6. Further help can be found in our Frequently
Asked Questions |
7. If on searching for products
you get the same page returned over and over again or you get
an error. The most likely cause is that your browser is
not requesting a new page but just showing you the same
page. To change this setting In IE6 - go to
Tools>Internet Options>General>Temporary Internet
Files>Settings and make sure it is set on Check for new
versions Every Time you visit page or on
Automatic. |
|
8. Ensure that your firewall is correctly
configured. Some personal firewalls (if you are at
work please see your network administrator) will try and
interfere with the pages you receive from our servers
and remove what they normally term as 'personal
information'. This has the unfortunate effect of
stopping some of the functionality on our site by
blocking some 'popup' screens and some buttons will not
work as they should. There is nothing we can do
about this and to ensure the proper functionality of our
site please disable this setting in your
firewall. |
|
9. You may receive an
error stating that 'some items are not
secure', we can assure you that when you log
into your account the site is 100% secure and that this
error is caused by your firewall inserting some code
into the web page after it has left our servers but
before it has appeared on your computer and this code
looks for a file located on your computer. Because
this file is not on our secure server your browser
reports the 'some items are not secure' error - which is out of our control. The
same rule here applies as in point 8. |
