Today we’re going to be looking at the perfect butterfly turn.
To get a strong butterfly turn, swim at a constant speed towards the wall without slowing down. Touch the wall with two hands at the same time, with your arms fully extended. Bend the arms at the elbow slightly, and at this time the legs can be pulled in closer and tucked up under the body.
Drop one arm down under the water and take a breath before submerging the whole body. Rotate round at an angle and stretch out into a full streamline position,
Use butterfly leg kick under the water for a bit of speed and to gain distance under the water.
When you reach the surface, give a few fly strokes, and then you have mastered your perfect butterfly turn.
