Swimsuit fabric tehnology can be used to help extend the life of your swimming costume or to help you reduce your competitive swimming times. Both Speedo and Zoggs now have long life anti chlorine fabrics in the CR25 and Endurance from Zoggs and Speedo respectively.
This chlorine resistant fabric will not degrade and is 20 times more colour resistant than any other conventional elastane swimwear currently on the market. It has been designed to help give an improved fit and comfort to the swimmer, with a softer feel and more superior shape retention.The Endurance TM swimwear range is ideal for swim training and regular use. For added convenience the fabric has a low moisture absorption rate and also dries quickly after use.
Zoggs CR25 is the latest in high performance chlorine resistant fabric for swimsuits. Featuring superior all-way stretch and recovery, CR25 will last up to 25 times longer in chlorinated water than conventional nylon/elastane swimwear. CR25 resists bagging, colour fading and has a UPF50+ protection rating. CR25 is a low water absorbency, quick drying fabric which gives superior fit and comfort.
The research and development process started with a new study of the shark, examining its skin texture and movement through water. The study led to the discovery that the shape and feel of the shark's denticles varies across its body to manage the flow of water.
Speedo has taken these new findings and created a full Bodyskin with different fabrics on different parts of the body, optimising the flow around an athlete and enabling Speedo to create, for the first time, male and female specific and stroke specific swimsuits. This is different from the original Fastskin suit which used the same fabric throughout.
