Libby Trickett Announces Comeback
Triple Olympic swimming champion Libby Trickett is all set to return to the pool just nine months after she announced her retirement, in the hope of representing Australia at the London 2012 Games. Announcing her comeback, the 25 year old said: "I guess it was a progression for me when I made the decision to retire. "I thought about it a lot and was really ready to (retire). "I retired last year thinking I didn't have any more goals to achieve and it was the reason to retire. "But throughout the course of this year there were lots of little things that started to make me miss (the pool) during race time." Trickett, who won a gold medal at the 2004 Athens Games and two at Beijing, failed to repeat her performance at the World Championships in Rome in 2009. She also has eight world championship golds - including a record five in Melbourne in 2007. Trickett has been working as a reporter in her native Australia following her retirement.
