Ms England drops swimwear round

mThe Miss England competition will not feature a swimwear round this year, organisers have announced.
It will be the first time in the event's 50-year history that the stage will not be featured. It will instead be replaced by a sports challenge.
The driving force behind the ditching of the popular round is last year's winner, Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, dubbed "Combat Barbie" by army friends.
Ms Hodge, 22, is well used to physically demanding work, having single-handedly disarmed an insurgent while on a tour of duty in Iraq, an incident for which she received a commendation.
She said: "I think it's nerve-wracking enough for girls to get up on a stage and speak, let alone appear in a swimsuit. It's good the girls are being given a sports challenge in this year's competition."
Miss England national organiser Angie Beasley added: "Every year the girls take part in the various rounds of Miss England - we have a talent, charity, eco and now the sports round, which will replace the swimwear in the competition."
L/Cpl Hodge will put this year's competition recruits through their paces in the new sports round asdrill master.
