Simply Swim & The Henley Mile 2018

If you're a long time reader of the Simply Swim blog then you may remember that for the last few years we have teamed up with Henley Swim to offer you chances to win places in the event, Simply Swim vouchers and have even sponsored the event with equipment. Well we're delighted to let you know that once again for 2018 we will be collaborating with them to offer you another chance to win!

In case you don't know too much about Henley Swim here's the lowdown;

- There are four events run by Henley Swim; the Henley Classic, the Henley Mile, the Club to Pub and the Thames Marathon.

- The Henley Classic "is a 2.1 km endurance upstream River Thames swimming event, held over the Henley Royal Regatta course, very early on the Sunday morning before the Wednesday start of Henley Royal Regatta." It takes place this year on the 1st July and swimmers start at dawn. The minimum age for entry is 14 years old and costs £39-£49 to enter. Find out more here.

- The Henley Mile "is a straight line downstream River Thames swimming event, held over the Henley Royal Regatta boomed course." This event is for families with entrants from 8 years and up. It is held over the course of a day and is great for all ages and abilities. This year it will be on the 15th July and you can find out more about it here.

- The Club to Pub is "a summer 1.5km evening swim taking place in the heart of Henley. Starting from Henley Rowing Club, and finishing at the Historic Angel on the Bridge", hence the name Club to Pub! This one is for older swimmer as the minimum age for entry is 18 and a BBQ and drinks will be available after the swim. This swim is on the 21st July this year and you can find out more information here.

- The Thames Marathon "is a 14km long-distance challenge swim from Henley-on-Thames to Marlow. It covers a beautiful stretch of the Thames and has become one of open water swimming’s most prestigious marathon swims." Again another one for the older swimmers with a minimum entry age of 18, this is a challenging swim and will be held on the 5th August this year. For more information take a look here.
