For many families, a trip to a water park is the perfect holiday. Water parks are a great mix of exercise, fresh air and excitement. Things have changed over the last decade or so, and the water parks that we grew up with may look a little antiquated compared to the massive water parks on offer today. Typhoon Lagoon Highlights

Disney theme parks are arguably the best in the business, and they have used their amazing creativity and technical know-how to create one of the world’s most incredible water parks. Typhoon Lagoon has a storm ravaged tropical island theme, with shipwrecked boats and other signs of a recent typhoon spread across the park. It would be impossible to take in all of the attractions in just one day, so an overnight stay in one of the local hotels may be a good idea. The water park has attractions to suit all ages, from Ketchakiddee Creek which features small slides and fountains for toddlers, to the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, which is the largest in the world and has realistic surf conditions. For any confident swimmers, there are surfing classes available, hosted by the Craig Carroll’s Cocoa Beach Surf School. The classes are about 2.5 hours long and held before the park opens, for an extra fee. A family that plays together, stays together (as they say in the classics), and Typhoon Lagoon offers a variety of family-friendly activities. Check out Gang Plank Falls, which allows 4 people to jump on a huge inner tube and take a family raft ride. To wind down after a session on the water slides, why not take the family on a cave walk through the Forgotten Grotto. It wouldn't be a Disney theme park without exciting attractions to enjoy, and one of the highlights of a trip to Typhoon Lagoon is Shark Reef, which is handled by the National Association of Underwater Instructors. This snorkeling adventure takes place in a huge salt-water tank featuring a sunken boat, hundreds of beautiful tropical fish and even sharks! Winding through the park is Castaway Creek, which is a 640-mile river that slowly circles the water park. It goes past beautiful waterfalls, rain forests and most of the major park attractions. Jump on an inner tube and scope out the park from this relaxing attraction. It's a great way to start or finish your day at Typhoon Lagoon. Important Tips Bring sunblock, towels and a disposable waterproof camera for your trip. Leave expensive gadgets at home because you can expect to get drenched at Typhoon Lagoon!
