Top 5 Water Movies

Want to know what we think are the top water movies to ever grace the silver screen? Here's our top five movies that made a splash... First, we have an oldie. It's the 1954 version of "Creature from the Black Lagoon". The iconic suit made it very difficult for the actor to sit and see, and it was very hot to wear. Gillman is highly recognizable and is part of the Universal monsters team. There are currently plans to remake the film starring Scarlett Johansson. Next up, we have "Splash". The film was directed by Academy Award winner Ron Howard, and stars Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah. This is literally a fish-out-of-water story. The film is about a man who falls in love with a woman who is secretly a mermaid. The film was actually nominated for an Academy Award for best original screenplay. Another favourite is "Titanic". The film stars Academy Award winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The film is about two people who fall in love during the ship's ill-fated maiden voyage. "Titanic" is one of the biggest films of all time, grossing over $2 billion at the box office. It has since been overtaken by James Cameron's "Avatar". It won 11 Academy Awards, which is the most won by a single film. Not only that, but it actually propelled Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio into stardom. In second place, we have "Jaws". We're going to need a bigger boat. This masterpiece by Steven Spielberg is about a shark who terrorizes a summer seaside town. It is Spielberg's first blockbuster, which made him a household name. It became the highest grossing film of all time until the release of Star Wars in 1977. Spielberg utilizes impressive camera techniques, atmospheric score, to build the suspense. This made people afraid to go into the water. And in first place, we have Disney/Pixar's "Finding Nemo". For the very few of you who haven't watched this classic, the film is about a clown fish and a forgetful fish named, I forgot, who goes in search for his long-lost son, Nemo. It is considered by many to be Pixar's greatest film. It was once the highest grossing Pixar film of all time until it was surpassed by Toy Story 3. Now we are just waiting impatiently for "Finding Dory".   What are your favourite water movies?
